About Me
Hi! My name is Allison Taylor of StartingSpark.
I'm an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, Personal Trainer, Macro Nutrition Coach, Air Force Veteran, Wife and Dog Mom.
My purpose and passion is to empower, educate, and inspire women to live in a body they love, gain confidence, self love and be overall healthier and happier. This is done by allowing in nutritious food, and intentional movement, gut and hormone health, eliminating harmful toxins, and incorporating mental and spiritual wellness.
The programs encompass custom nutrition, custom workouts, healing of the gut and hormones, living with less toxins, embracing and understanding emotions and self love practices, and so much more!
As a child onto adulthood I always struggled with major depression, anxiety, OCD, digestive and bladder issues, anorexia, hyperandrogenism, fatty liver, high cholesterol and more. I ate the typical American diet filled with freezer meals and took every medication under the sun to simply manage my symptoms. I always pushed myself to be "the best of the best" in every activity I did. I did Girl Scouts, swim team, softball, tae kwon do, track, altar serving, theater, student council all while managing honors in school. This pushed onto college and early adulthood. I was always overworking myself and doing extra for others, people pleasing, never getting anything in return. I never felt good truly and never loved myself. I felt like I was always spiraling and simply thriving. All the others seemed to be so happy and "normal." I just wanted to feel happy and healthy.
After my first year of college, I followed a boy to another state. I got my first apartment and had to work 2 jobs to pay rent. I was working over 60 hours a week and still doing school. I was miserable and tired and gained over 10 pounds and reached my heaviest weight ever. I didn't know what to do. I was supposed to be starting with the military in a few months and was afraid that I would fail. I went from being an athlete for 13 years to overweight and not able to run. I was devastated.
I started trying every fad diet and exercise: Detox teas, hiit workouts, starving myself, hours of cardio, etc. I felt burnt out and started seeing my body in such a negative light, like I did when I was 13 and hospitalized for anorexia. I became obsessive and started comparing myself to everyone online. Every "influencer" kept saying different things and I never knew what the right answer was. I was overwhelmed.
Finally, I met with a personal trainer who inspired me to try weight lifting and protein. I was scared because I felt like it was going to make me "bulky." I also didn't want to step foot into that dreaded weight training section that seemed to have only big dudes in it. I slowly trusted the process and did alot of my own research and trial and error.
In 5 weeks I lost 8 pounds and took off a few minutes for my mile and a half time. By the time Air Force Basic training came around I got Honor Grad for my good grades and my great exercise times and reps.
I kept up my own research and trial and error and I finally got to the point of confidence in the gym and out of the gym. I felt like I had a home. I decided I want to even try for a bodybuilding contest one day. I grew so in love I got my Personal Training certification, and my Macro Coaching Certifation. I had people asking me for help without me even saying anything about it. I knew I could help women have results like I did without the long, hard, expensive and stressful journey I did.
The past year, after working with solely fitness and nutrtion I stumbled upon holistic health and wellness. I fell lin love. I did have that overwhelming feeling again as I did my own reseach and found so many different opinions and suggestions to living lower tox and more natrual. I delved deep into a Health Coaching Course and loved every minute of it. I learned so much and got my own health coach. The passion grew and I started feeling even better. I got off of SSRI's and some other medications by healing them naturally. Overall I have felt happier and healthier from the inside out,. I'm inspired by nature and felt like as humans we should not only work towards being the best version of ourselves but helping the earth be the best it can be for the future.
Holistic Health can help refine the mental and emotional parts even more that regular fitness can't always do so deeply. Working with all aspects of health: physical, mental, emotional, financial, occupational, intellectual, spiritual and environmental one can truly be the best versions of themselves. I want every person to love themselves and feel amazing with everything they do. If you are a women and want to lose weight, tone up, work on gut health, hromone health, mental health and overall feel happier and healthier, then Hi! Id love to work with you and know no matter what, you matter. You are beautiful and seen. Most importantly, YOU ARE LOVED!
